That is an American black bear (Ursus americanus).
You can identify it by a few key features:
Facial Profile: Unlike grizzly bears, which have a distinctive concave or "dished" snout, black bears have a straighter profile from the forehead to the nose.
Muzzle: It has the classic light-colored (tan or "cinnamon") muzzle that often contrasts with its dark fur.
Ears: The ears are relatively large, pointed, and set more upright on the head compared to the smaller, rounder ears of a brown bear.
Shoulder Hump: While not visible in this headshot, black bears lack the prominent muscular shoulder hump found on grizzlies.
Interestingly, despite the name, black bears can range in color from pitch black to cinnamon, blonde, or even bluish-grey. Since you're in Wisconsin, this is the only bear species native to your state!
